About the Artist
Storyteller, Photographer, Memory Hoarder, Sentimental Small Town Girl
Hailey Shimrock was born and raised near Lake Erie, Ohio, where her deep connection to home serves as the foundation of her creative work. As a self-proclaimed "memory hoarder," she finds meaning in documenting the scenes and stories that define her personal experience, blending nostalgia and the mundane with subtle social critique.
Shimrock began her photographic practice as a student in the Cleveland Print Room’s Teen Mastery program and later continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she earned a BFA in Photography and Related Media along with a minor in History of Art. Her work has been exhibited at the Ohio Civil Rights Commission in Columbus, Ohio, and The Museum at FIT in New York City.
Previously based on Nantucket Island, currently in Northeast Ohio.
